Descrição da vaga: Generation Brazil is actively seeking an exceptional CEO who embodies our values and understands the future challenges and opportunities in Brazil’s education-to-employment ecosystem. We are looking for a visionary leader who can drive operational excellence, excel in commercial sales, and cultivate trusted relationships with multiple partners while recognizing the importance of bringing people along in these processes.

As the CEO, you will be responsible for leading the scaling up of Generation Brazil’s operations, ensuring operational excellence is achieved at every level of the organization. Your strategic direction will guide us towards our ambitious vision, while your expertise in commercial sales will contribute to revenue growth and long-term sustainability.

Building trusted relationships with multiple partners will be a fundamental aspect of this role. You will have the opportunity to envision and foster collaborations with stakeholders across the public and private sectors, cultivating strong partnerships that fuel our impact. Equally important, you will prioritize bringing a diverse and dynamic team along in these processes, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment with all stakeholders involved.

This full-time position will be based in São Paulo, and you will report directly to the Generation Brazil Board. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package that aligns with industry standards in the NGO sector.

To be successful you’ll need:

  • Passion for the mission: Demonstrated passion for Generation’s mission and vision in transforming education to employment.
  • Strong track record: A minimum of 12 years of business work experience with at least 5 years of direct leadership experience, demonstrating a proven track record of success.
  • Strategic leadership: The ability to set a strategic vision, prioritize initiatives, and define the roadmap to achieve organizational goals.
  • Scaling up operations: Experience in setting up and scaling up operations programs, particularly those involving multiple sites or projects simultaneously. You should have a track record of being accountable for large-scale operations.
  • Building trusted relationships: Proven experience in building close, trust-based working relationships with CXO-level positions within corporates, foundations, government, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Team leadership: Ability to lead, develop, and manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: Possess an entrepreneurial, creative, innovative, and proactive mindset required for start-ups. You should take ownership of targets and continuously seek opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Fundraising experience: Experience in private and/or public sector fundraising, preferably within the skills/education sector, would be beneficial.
  • Impact-oriented attitude: A positive, solutions-oriented mindset with a drive for excellence. You should be open to feedback from multiple stakeholders and be self-reflective.
  • Data-driven approach: Ability to use data to inform decisions and present/influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to various Proficiency in both written and spoken Portuguese and English is required.
  • Integrity and work ethic: Exhibit integrity, a mission-driven approach, and a self-directed work ethic. You should be committed to working collaboratively with a management team of senior professionals.
  • Education/training/talent-related experience: Ideally, you should have experience in starting or running an education, training, or talent-related organization, or have worked in a tech-related start-up. Knowledge of the non-profit landscape is preferred but not required.
  • Financial planning: Experience with financial planning and the ability to efficiently manage budgets.

What you’ll do:

  • Define the short- and long-term strategy for Generation in Brazil and provide continuity to efforts of the organization.
  • Ensure appropriate organization and staffing and manage the operational team as required to maintain excellence program outcomes, in line with the Generation methodology.
  • Be the external spokesperson for Generation Brazil with various government entities, private sector organizations, foundations, and represent Generation in relevant forums.
  • Accelerate the growth of Generation across cities and roles, by identifying and securing new opportunities for impactful programs.
  • Ensure adequate funding availability for Generation Chile, through fundraising and engagement from private sector, government, and foundation sources, with an emphasis on sustainability.
  • Identify areas of risk and take steps to reduce vulnerabilities.
  • Grow and develop internal talent, and cultivate a strong, values-driven team culture.
  • Be a credible representative of the efforts of Generation Brazil to current and potential partners, as well as the skill development scene in Brazil.

Key Activities

Develop strategy and ensure execution

  • Set the vision and overall strategy for Generation Brazil, ensuring alignment across all relevant stakeholders, including the Generation Brazil Board, Generation Global leadership, and Generation LatAm COO.
  • Set and deliver against realistic goals, agreed in consultation with the leadership team.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of all operational initiatives including recruitment, training & placement, in accordance with program specifications & funding limits.
  • Ensure consistent communication with other Generation affiliates, including ensuring updates and leading regular alignment calls.

Build and manage external relationships

  • Build and manage relationships with multiple implementation partners, and ensure their adherence to Generation methodology, practices, and standards.
  • Ensure targets and timelines for partnerships are met.
  • Manage relationships with employer partners, funders and other partners providing resources to Generation in the form of vacancies and/or funding.
  • Build relationships with corporate, charitable trusts, international and national grant-giving bodies, chambers of commerce etc., with a view to maintaining a reputable public image and creating new opportunities for partnerships/fundraising.
  • Represent Generation Brazil, and its programs, in all public

Drive funding and sustainability

  • Develop funding and sustainability strategy, and value proposition for potential funding partnerships and collaboration.
  • Execute funding strategy in line with revenue targets, by cultivating and securing new funding lines from employers, government, private sector donors, and foundations.
  • Ensure Generation Brazil delivers against commitments and conditions associated with all funding sources.
  • Drive fund appropriation to the right projects and be accountable for funds and usage.
  • Ensure timely reporting and due diligence as per expectations of partners, especially funding partners, to ensure positive outcomes and sustained relationships.

Manage operations and finances

  • Oversee and manage plans for operations and ongoing performance management and review of projects, outcomes, and impact.
  • Monitor results against operational, revenue and cost goals, and provide reports on the progress against the same throughout the year.
  • Oversee design and implementation of human resources policies and procedures, including set up of payroll, benefits plans.
  • Oversee overall financial management, planning, systems, and controls including the budgeting process, payables to vendors.
  • Provide regular operational and financial reports to the Board, Generation Global and Generation LatAm COO.

Team building and coaching

  • Build, manage and develop a team to achieve ambitious revenue and growth targets.
  • Recruit, train and promote human resources as necessary for the organization.
  • Define a career path for team members.
  • Promote a healthy, inclusive, and equitable organizational culture that enables exceptional results and engaged staff.
