Job Description:

Reporting to the LatAm Global Entity Management (GEM) Leader, the GEM Manager for LatAm will provide assistance for PayPal entities located in Latin America (“LatAm”). Additionally, the GEM Manager may support other business operations and initiatives through entities located in or outside LatAm (e.g., PayPal’s international headquarters in Singapore). This manager will be responsible for assisting with governance and regulatory agenda for the legal entity structure and the PayPal operating model.

The GEM Manager for LatAm will help foster strong internal relationships, enabling an experienced international team to execute with excellence. The successful candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, business partnering skills and quickly demonstrate an understanding of PayPal’s core businesses. With strong business partnering skills and functional experience, this manager will possess a track record of supporting and advising on international business operations. The GEM Manager for LatAm will also keep abreast of industry trends and develop deep internal working relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with governance and legal entity oversight of Brazil, Mexico and rest of LatAm to support the development of PayPal’s International business, organization, employees and image;
  • Assist with the execution of strategic business and regulatory engagement plans for LatAm market;
  • Assist with regulatory audits and other issues that impact the business;
  • Help identify legal/regulatory obligations and best practices on potential growth initiatives and the impact on legal entity management;
  • Assist developing processes and procedures to enable the business to be nimble while ensuring the control functions are suitable to support the commercial objectives;
  • Support clear and open communication channels back to headquarters and other cross-functional teams;
  • Provide cross-functional coordination among business units to foster a high-performing, unified team;
  • Build effective, trust-based, working relationships with Head Office and other key stakeholders;
  • Establish and maintain strong contacts with internal functions, including legal, risk and compliance, government relations and finance;
  • Monitor and track legislations and regulatory initiatives impacting PayPal;
  • Support crisis management matters; and
  • Understand and support local licensing requirements to ensure appropriate compliance with and how it can enable strategic business objectives for LatAm.

Optimal Profile


  • Prior experience in the financial services industry;
  • Familiarity with LatAm, coupled with perspectives from working in a matrixed environment.
  • Knowledgeable about competitive forces within and outside of the industry;
  • Track record of driving results for an organization; and
  • Supporting cross-functional teams to achieve an objective.
