Customers in over 150 countries look to our expertise in pricing, analytics and news to deliver greater transparency and efficiency to markets. The Americas refined products pricing team is dynamic and responsible for key pricing benchmarks across the region. The right candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic team player with a passion for market reporting.Responsibilities and Impact:This is an exciting opportunity to drive S&P Global Commodity Insights refined product price assessment strategy across Brazil’s domestic market. You will provide critical information, news and analysis to our subscribers.

  • The Associate Editor will be responsible for publishing daily spot price assessments for a variety of Brazilian refined products markets, as well as writing daily market commentary and real-time news.
  • Develop excellent source relationships with industry contacts.
  • Look for opportunities to expand into new contacts.
  • Market intelligence generator to create, modify or discontinue assessments to reflect accurately the market conditions.

What We’re Looking For:Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Drive to develop knowledge of South and North American oil markets. Understanding of market fundamentals is necessary in order to develop subject matter expertise.
  • Working to intra-day deadlines in high pressure environments. Our processes are daily and we have frequent intraday deadlines.
  • Accuracy under time pressure. It is critical that we deliver accurate assessments to the market consistently.
  • Proven real time news abilities. This position will be writing news and analysis on a real time basis.
  • Basic understanding of economic principles.
  • Fluent English and Portuguese language skills are necessary.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience minimum on oil and gas companies
  • Knowledge of refined product markets in the Americas would be an advantage.
  • Experience on logistic operations, inspection will be highly valued.
  • Higher degree education, such as a Master’s degree or PhD.
  • A solid understanding of economics and risk management principles.
  • An ability to multitask and prioritize under tight deadlines.
  • Degree in Energy, Economics, Finance, Business or similar.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Public speaking abilities.
